Right-wing coalition government in Italy: what to expect for economic policy?

On 5. October 2022 the MIWI Institute held a live discussion on GETTR on the question “What to expect for economic policy from the new right-wing coalition government in Italy”.

Participants were Davide Quadri, international secretary of Young Lega, policy advisor to the ID group in the European Parliament (Lega) and Lorenzo Bernasconi, research fellow at the Machiavelli Centre for Political Studies, policy advisor to the Italian Minister of Economic Development (Lega).  The discussion was moderated by Yuri Kofner, economist, MIWI Institute.

The experts discussed the economic situation in Italy – government debt, inflation, Euro, productivity, demography and migration;  what to expect from the new right-wing government for Italian economic policy and Rome’s international relations with EU, USA, Russia and Germany; and the collaboration between coalition partners Lega, FdI and Forza Italia will work out.
