On 13 April 2023 in Prague, Yuri Kofner, economist, MIWI Institute met with the economist Dr. Vaclav Klaus, who was Prime Minister from 1993 to 1998 and President of the Czech Republic from 2003 to 2013.
Vaclav Klaus, who today heads a research institute named after him, represents a pragmatic evidence-based economic policy and publicly supports liberal-conservative values.
During the meeting, Mr Kofner and the former Czech president discussed a possible research cooperation between the Vaclav Klaus Institute and the MIWI Institute, the AfD’s rising poll numbers (17 percent) and the latest economic policy developments in the Czech Republic and Germany.
